Dilate is an advanced vision therapy application which uses machine learning and augmented reality to strengthen eye muscles and raise conscious control of vision acuity.
Basic steps are provided below with a learning center in development!
* Step 1: Find a piece of clearly printed text on a contrasting background. (i.e - white text and black background.)
* Step 2: Open the app and hold as far from your face as possible at eye level.
* Step 3: Begin bringing the phone back until the text cannot be seen through the dilate image unless you relax your focus (similar to looking through a store window).
* Step 4: Look through the semi transparent image and attempt to hold your focus.
* Step 5: Play with the distance as the machine learning works differently on each device.
NOTE: Text behind the image should be clear but you should be able to easily play with your focus like a store window to either look _through_ the image or at the image itself.
Thats it! As you do this exercise you should feel some interesting things happening in your eyes. I hope your hooked and please share your experiences! More sophisticated exercises, videos, and research are in the works!
